For over 40 years, our Faculty of Environmental Studies has been at the forefront of cutting-edge research and applied learning. An Environmental Studies degree from York University isn’t just about “green” environments. It’s also about solving real-world environmental issues in urban and regional areas to increase equity and improve community wellbeing. The first Environmental Studies program in Canada, we employ a cross-disciplinary approach to explore the theoretical and practical relationships between natural, built and social environments.
Through integrated analysis and engaged planning, we prepare our students to tackle challenges related to urbanization, renewable energy, healthy food systems and infrastructure, helping communities understand and prepare for climate change and more.
Open your mind to endless career opportunities, expected and otherwise. You could be an urban and regional planner, ecological economist, environmental designer, community arts advocate, NGO director, corporate sustainability officer and more.
